ART D’ECO at Meccanica D’Abito, Riccione

The silhouettes in food packaging are coming out of the cupboard for the spring and have chosen to be seen in the windows of Meccanica D’Abito, Via Circonvallazione 140, in Riccione, together with the mannequins, ostriches and cage used for the fashion show of Italian designer Mirco Giovannini in Milan !

Come and visit this new open place, where vintage furniture are host of old collections by Moshino, Missoni, Moncler, vintage Gucci and Christian Dior bag etc etc... Nothing but good taste and creativity; Gianna will welcome you with sweet chocolats and an expresso. Italian welcoming !

Colllection for ARTYZAN, India /2011

For one month now, I have been doing products development for ARTYZAN, the brand of Children of the World India, a vocational academy for young adults near Pondicherry, South of India.(http://www.cwindia.org/index.php?page=artyzan-brand).

I am very fortunate to be in this design studio created by ARTYZAN to support the academy.

My work is to create accessories out of the donations of fabric to the school.

Incredible materials end up in my hands: hand embroidered or luxurious textures.... silk, felt, velvet, linen....

so here I am making limited editions of Hats in denim (factory reject), small and big bags with embroidery, “chic purse” with beads, pencil case in felt with an enormous grasshopper embroidered on it, embroidered belts , cushions covers , etc etc...

Ambiente Festival Rimini, Italy

ART D’ECO was present at the Boutique Etica , part of the Festival of the Environment organised by the city of Rimini, Italy.

the theme this year was biodiversity; Conferences, workshops for adults and children, art performances and installations, ecodesign urban furniture, amazing lamps made with used plastic bottles, mini gardens made on wheel barrow by children etc, etc... so many initiatives, appealing and creative. Bravo the city of Rimini and Bravo to the organising team. waitign for the 2011 edition, as colorful and juicy. re-used window frame
to make a pannel.

Exhibition " Moda, Design e il mondo dei rifiuti" the Quattrocentto, Milano Setp16th to Oct.6th

Moda, Design e il mondo dei rifiuti

Inaugura il 16 settembre al 4CENTO e dura tre settimane l'esposizione artistica di KATELL GELEBART, eco-designer francese che ha vissuto in tutto il mondo
e tenuto conferenze in accademie e scuole di moda in Olanda, India, Nuova Zelanda e Ucraina.
Il suo lavoro, la filosofia e l'etica è quella di sviluppare le potenzialità di riciclo / riutilizzo
di rifiuti e materiali indesiderati nel campo del design.
Le sue creazioni dimostrano che è possibile combinare design e riutilizzo di materie prime
senza creare e generare più rifiuti come risultato di questo processo.

Per la mostra che si terrà al 4CENTO, Katell Gelebart ha pensato al concept
"Gli imballaggi alimentari diventano di moda e mobili di design ..."

Dice infatti: "Il mio approccio all'arte e alla creatività è inscindibile dalla questione dei rifiuti prodotti dalla nostra società tutti i giorni.
In tutto il mondo, in Nuova Zelanda, India, Paesi Bassi, o nella mia Francia, vengono usati ed eiliminati enormi quantità di imballaggi.
Questo costituisce un crescente problema ed io cerco di affrontarlo con energia creativa.
In qualità di "eco-designer" ultimamente ho focalizzato la mia attenzione sulle confezioni degli alimenti,
che hanno un grande potenziale artistico.
Questo imballaggio particolare, ha meravigliose qualità estetiche e colore. La sua delicatezza, tuttavia, mi permette di creare
opere lievi che diventano metafore di riutilizzo. I pezzi che creo sono da considerare come ispirazione e suggeriscono
un nuovo modo di concepire i materiali di scarto.
